KIDS AND FOOD: SUGGESTIONS TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND and PLAN YOUR KIDS DIET

"STOP PLAYING AND EAT" How many times have you planned a nutritious, well plated meal only

to have your kids look at the food, look up at you grab their forks and dig in, all the

while, laughing, poking their plates with their forks and feeding the meal you made for them to

the dog:) The challenge of getting our kids to eat right is a battle all parents fight  to win - I know

it does not appear to be getting any easier.  However the tools to fight the good food  kid fight

are  getting more sophisticated.

Think of it this way you want your kids  to eat well and your kids want to watch television and

feed their food to the family dog - compromise  continue your  child's culinary education and

make life easier on yourself, your kids and the baby sitter.

Perhaps  the  global argument: "What are the best foods for our kids" will never reach consensus

- may it shouldn't all arguments are not un healthy.

Okay food availability is based on  many variables: geography, money, racism, stereotypes,

ignorance, culture, ethnicity religion and education. Let's not forget Monopoly ( some of the

biggest companies in the world are trying like hell to  "own" the seeds which produce the food

we eat and they are trying to control our diets - please don't let them.  Mary Adams Wiley

said: ...."If I control nothing I will control what goes in my mouth"  explain what that means to

your kids by example give them good  food ( preferably plant based ) to eat and enjoy. With all

due respect because "Mama ate it" does not make it good for your kids ( or you:)

We might never agree on what food is best for our kids.  People continue evolve based on their

environment. The food we eat is ever changing too, remember what you thought of beets and

broccoli as a kid? You evolved in to a food, hence your attitude and behavior toward edibles

turned you into a borsch lover!.

Learn how researchers, community organizations,  artists and educators create awareness and

opportunities to take on,  the challenges of the Getting kids involved in their own  nutrition and

the benefits this has on their development ( and your sanity:)
